SPARTANS FINISH FOURTH IN SOUTH

The squad, coming off an 0-8 record in its inaugural season, posted the second-best regular-season record in the state and was one of four teams to advance to the South Carolina State Final Four.
    In the South Championships, held April 30-May 1 in Orlando, the Spartans established a name - and reputation - for the team.
    "Last year we were soundly beaten in many games and did not win a contest," said Greer Head Coach John Roberts, who also coaches the Furman University Rugby Team. "And this year, we were just a point or two from going 12-1 and finishing first or second in the South. So it was a remarkable turnaround."
